Clues
Loyalty Card
Clue 1
Each stamp on the loyalty card seems to link to other pieces in the game. Have you spotted these leaves anywhere else?
Reveal The Answer
Match each leaf stamp on the loyalty card to a puzzle to work out the correct order of play.
Access Card
Clue 1
Gareth’s job title tells you what to look for. He works by spotting deviations and noticing when symmetry is broken.
Clue 2
Turn to the back of the access card and study the large pattern carefully. It looks perfectly symmetrical at first glance, but a few parts do not match.
Clue 3
The places where the symmetry is broken are not random - each one forms the shape of a letter. Find all of those letters to reveal the answer.
Reveal The Answer
Gareth’s job on the access card gives you the key to solving the puzzle, because it mentions spotting deviations and breaking symmetry. On the back of the card there is a large pattern that appears to be completely symmetrical, but if you inspect it closely you will notice a number of points where the symmetry is broken. These differences are not accidental each one forms the shape of a letter. Find all of the letters hidden in the breaks in the pattern, and together they spell TWENTY. The answer is 20.
Plant Explorer Challenge
Clue 1
This isn’t just a flower activity sheet… It’s time to get hands-on! To make the bouquet you need to shape the leaflet itself.
Clue 2
Those origami bouquets aren’t just pretty pictures. Copy the folds exactly as they show you, using the coloured sections as guides to line everything up neatly.
Clue 3
Fold your leaflet twice, once for each bouquet picture. If you’ve matched the folds correctly, hidden numbers will bloom in the coloured sections.
Reveal The Answer
There are two pictures of folded origami flower bouquets on the leaflet. To solve the puzzle, you need to fold the leaflet to match the bouquets shown. Start with the orange bouquet on the left-hand side. Lay the leaflet flat on the “Plant Explorer Challenge” side and fold it exactly as shown in the picture, using the blocked colours as guidelines. When folded correctly, the number 29 will appear: the 2 can be seen on the left-hand side between the yellow, green and orange sections, and the 9 appears on the right-hand folded side across the yellow, green and orange sections. Next, repeat the process using the pink bouquet as your guide. Fold the leaflet to match the image. This time, the number appears within the pink section, where the green vines align to reveal 47. Under the bouquet instructions it says “The sum of these hand-picked blooms,” so you need to add the two numbers together: 29 + 47. The answer is 76.
Greenhouse Rota
Clue 1
Look carefully at the 8 days of the timetable. Each colour is moving in its own repeating pattern.
Clue 2
Work out how each block changes from one day to the next then continue those same movement onto the blank timetable for day 9.
Reveal The Answer
Look at the 8 days of the timetable and study how each coloured block moves from one day to the next. Each colour follows its own pattern. You need to identify how each one changes and then continue those same patterns onto the blank timetable for day 9. When all of the coloured blocks have been moved correctly the completed pattern on day 9 forms the numbers 2 and 3. The answer is 23.
Germination Graph
Reveal The Answer
You need the flower seed packet to complete this puzzle.
Seed Packet
Clue 1
This puzzle uses two pieces together. The seed packet and the germination graph.
Clue 2
The arrows on both pieces show you what to do. Try sliding one into the other.
Clue 3
Look at the section called “Germination Connections” on the seed packet. The coloured lines here match some of the coloured lines on the germination graph.
Clue 4
Move the graph up and down until one of the coloured lines connects to the correct symbols and letters shown in the Germination Connections.
Reveal The Answer
To solve this puzzle, you need both the seed packet and the germination graph. Notice the arrows on both pieces, which indicate that the graph should be inserted into the seed packet. Once it is in place, look at the section labelled “Germination Connections”, on the seed packet. First, find the image of a seed with two sprouting leaves, which is linked by a blue line to the letter G, along with the flower symbol beside it. Move the graph up and down until the blue line on the graph connects the seed symbol with two sprouting leaves to the letter G. Keeping it in that position, follow another blue line from the flower symbol to find the number 3. Next, repeat the process with the red line by moving the graph until it connects the letter E to the correct seed symbol. Then follow the red line from the flower symbol to find the number 2. Putting these numbers together gives 32, so the answer is 32.
Artists Illustration
Clue 1
The artist’s route isn’t written out in full. You’ll need to combine the short instructions with the pictures to work it out.
Clue 2
Use the route you have worked out to carefully trace the path onto the map.
Clue 3
Once you’ve worked out the route, don’t ignore anything covering the path. Look closely at what crosses over it.
Reveal The Answer
The artist has marked out the best route through the gardens using a series of images and short instructions. To solve the puzzle, use both the written instructions and the pictures with arrows to work out the full route, especially where the instructions are brief and the images help guide you. Once you have traced the correct route onto the map, look carefully at any letters from the captions that cross over the path you are following. These letters spell FORTY, so the answer is 40.
Plant Development Leaflet
Clue 1
“Experts representing every corner of the plant industry” seems to be pointing you to look at the corners of plants. Look for a plant graphic that has corners and pay attention to what those corners are pointing at.
Clue 2
Look at the roots coming from the image of the plant. Some roots are picked out in a lighter green. That same lighter green appears again in the symposium leaf logo - It’s the highlighted line around the leaf.
Clue 3
Treat each light-green root section as a shape key. Match the shape/orientation of each highlighted root to the corresponding corner segment on the highlighted leaf outline.
Reveal The Answer
On the back of the leaflet, look at the plant roots and pick out the sections highlighted in a lighter green. In the top-right logo (“Willowstone Botanical Research Institute Exotic Plant Symposium”), the leaf inside the emblem is outlined with the same lighter green highlight, and its corners/edges point toward nearby letters. Match each light-green root shape to the corresponding highlighted corner segment on the leaf outline (same shape and orientation), then take the letter this corner points at. Doing this for all highlighted root sections gives letters that spell THIRTEEN. The answer is 13.
Birds of the Garden
Clue 1
Use the QR code or website link to listen to the bird calls!
Clue 2
Look at the birds around the map. Each one has a waveform shown. Can you match each sound to the correct bird?
Clue 3
Once you’ve identified the birds, pay attention to the highlighted letters at the end of their names. What do they spell when rearranged?
Reveal The Answer
Scan the QR code or use the website link to listen to the audio clips of the four bird calls. Then look at the map, where each bird has a waveform shown underneath it, and match each sound to the correct bird by comparing the audio to the waveform. The four birds are Moorhen, Red Kite, Peregrine, and Robin. Next, notice that the final two letters of each bird’s name are highlighted. Take these letters EN, TE, NE, IN and rearrange them to form the word nineteen. The answer is 19.
Tree Tag
Clue 1
The note saying “please find Will Everatt and Esteban Vafer” is more than just a message - it tells you how to begin.
Clue 2
Look at how the text “Sequoia Sempervirens” is arranged in the graphic. The two names may be hidden in a similar way.
Clue 3
The box titled “About the Species” is also a word search. Search for both names there, remembering that the letters can run in any direction.
Reveal The Answer
Start with the note that says “please find Will Everatt and Esteban Vafer”. This tells you exactly what to do. The text in the box titled About the Species is also a word search, so you need to find both names hidden within it. A useful hint is to look at how the text “Sequoia Sempervirens” is arranged in the graphic, as the names may be laid out in a similar way. Unlike a regular word search, the letters can run in any direction, so look carefully in all possible paths. Once you have marked where both names appear, the shape they form looks like the number 26. The answer is 26.
Heritage Yard
Clue 1
The “Irrigation system placement” in the planting notes isn’t just information it’s the key you’ll need to decode the garden bed plans.
Clue 2
There are six copies of the Heritage Yard flower bed layout. The numbers inside the beds aren’t random they tell you how many flowers of a specific colour to look for in each bed.
Clue 3
Work through all six layouts to identify the colour each one represents.
Clue 4
These flower colours also appear in the title “Heritage Yard”. Use the colours you’ve found for the irrigation plan and find the corresponding letter in the title.
Reveal The Answer
Start with the irrigation system placement shown under the planting notes. This is your key. Each of the six notes shows the same flower bed layout but with numbers added into certain beds. These numbers tell you how many flowers of one specific colour to find in those beds. Only one colour will work for all of the numbers. For example, in the first plan, the numbers 3, 1 and 4 are placed in specific flower beds. If you look at those same beds in the original layout, the only flower colour that appears in those exact quantities is orange so that entire plan represents the colour orange. Solve each of the six plans in the same way to work out the sequence of colours: orange, navy, light blue, yellow, turquoise and pink. These are the exact colours used in the “Heritage Yard” title. Now, for each colour in that order, take the matching coloured letter from the title. This spells EIGHTY. The answer is 80.
